Why Tamil is the only Indian Classical Language

This article /debate explains why Tamil is an only southern Indian language eligible for being classical languages of India

Disclaimer:
The intention of writing the article is to provide honest view at the issue and this is not meant that one language is superior to others strongly believe that one’s mother tongue is important to him/her whether it having long heritage or not.

Problem
In 2004, Tamil has been acknowledged as “Classical Language of India” and after some time the following Indian languages also announced as same, Sanskrit (in 2005), Kannada and Telugu (in 2008).

Like other Tamils, I also wants my fellow people of India get the equal opportunities, we warmly welcomes Sanskrit announced as classical language and as of you know the language has its merits to have it.

But the government of India makes a huge mistake of making non-classical languages Kannada and Telugu into this status. Why i am saying like this, what kind of proof i have to say this?

Yes. I can provide plenty of proofs that you can find to support my claim. But Here I am going to discuss ,the one of the main criteria of being classical language described y Government of India.
“The literary tradition be original and not borrowed from another speech community”

Yes it because it can be understood by everyone who using the words in the everyday of life and also its a huge topic i don’t have much time and effort to do all this. But i am also providing the reference links for supporting the all other criteria.

What i am trying to prove?
Whether its long or small conversation, my point is really simple.
Just like you i also agree, Being a Hindu majority followers, all of the Indian languages have the influence of Sanskrit language and the beliefs.

But when comparing the other Indian languages Tamil is very less polluted by Sanskrit words other than Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. In my point Malayalam is most Sanskrit polluted language which has majority of words borrowed from Sanskrit.

But on the other side, Tamil is the only Indian language can survive without taking any single word from other Language like Sanskrit (Tamil has plenty of its own words and its pure)

Now look again the main criteria of classical language “The literary tradition be original and not borrowed from another speech community”

I am giving the simple test to justify my argument

Proving Classical language status with Daily used common words

I am trying to prove or discuss the issue with our daily used common words .There is no much research is required in this topic, but with the simple test you can prove that Tamil is the only language in south India eligible as classical language status.

Example 1:

Let’s say English meaning of “Hello” in four southern Indian languages

Kannada – namaskara (Look for Sanskrit root word “Namaskar/Namaskaram” )
Telugu- namaskaram (Look for sanskrit root word “Namaskar/Namaskaram” )
Malayalam – namaskkaram ( Look for Sanskrit root word “Namaskar/Namaskaram” )

Ok let’s look “Tamil”
Tamil – vanakkam(you can see,Vanakkam is a pure Tamil word, there is no direct/in direct relation with Sanskrit)

Example 2:
Lets say English meaning of ” i love you ” in four southern Indian languages

Telugu -Neenu Ninnu Pra’mistu’nnanu (see the word “Pra’m” derived from sanskrit root word “Prem”)
Kannada – Naanu Ninnanu Preethisuthene(see the word “preeth” derived from sanskrit root word “Prem”)
Malayalam- Njyaan Ninne’ Preetikyunnu(see the word “Preeti” derived from sanskrit root word “Prem”)

ok let’s look “Tamil”
Tamil – Nan Unnai Kaathalikkiren(Here the word ,”Kaathal” represents “Love” but it’s nowhere related to the Sanskrit root word “Prem” directly/indirectly)

you can extend this test with any sentences framed by particular language words, and most of time you will ended with the result above. If time permits i will review more words and meaning here

Why we are not acknowledging Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam

The answer is simple, We(Tamil people) thoughts are simple, If it’s really true ,let it go. But if it’s not why (The government) supporting false propaganda for vote banks.
You can take a real-time example, the educational system is a merit based one, if someone have passed with higher marks will automatically get promoted for next level or higher studies.

If another student has not scored well and not passed in the current exam and he/she may expect the same thing to promoted for next level. In the point second student, he/she may ask for himself “why not you provide me higher marks and makes me promoted to next level?”

To response this issue the mark evaluator (Indian politicians) given over mark to the second student (Kannada, Telugu)
and make them passed( Get classical status)

In the view of the second student? The view may be correct, but what about the purpose of educational system and the student passed with merit? This is where Tamils, Sanskrit (Merit Students) having concerned.

Conclusion
Tamil is the only south Indian language which has its own words to represent, and it can be live without taking/borrow any single word from Sanskrit or any other language which is one of the main criteria of classical language status

Now we can justify that “Tamil is the only Indian Classical Language and Why Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam is not”.
