Definitely widows live writer is my top choice to my blog editing requirement for various reasons, one of the few main aspects are ( I will explain all features in a separate article ) best supports all the features of complete word processing system (formatting, spellchecking and etc) , auto pinging feature with custom pinging ,auto linking with keywords, post preview integrated with theme preview, Local draft save option, multiple posts downloading and editing possible ,available as free of charge and etc. The only constraint is windows live writer is meant for windows operating system but its my top choice here.

Raven is free blog editing tool best supports most of the popular blog platforms like wordpress,blogger,live spaces ,live journal and many others. I have personally used Zoundry raven before I try windows live writer, its also having most of all good features that the windows live writer have , but the few things I have encounter with Raven is its Buggy feature of formatting texts, after updating texts with selected header tags the software still publishing the already chosen text format not with the updated header tag. Apart from this Zoundry raven is my second priory for offline blog editing requirement based on windows based platform
